GFL OFFENSIVE MVP…. The Man, The Myth, The Ladd…

Football is game that is not always won by the team that has the most talent.  Winning teams are not created just by having the most skilled players on the field.  With that in mind, the 2011 the Lake Shore Lynx might have arguably the most athletically gifted football that the GFL has ever seen.   If there is one player that this team, and the GFL, could say stands above the pack in talent, leadership, and the ability to change a game, it is the 2011 GFL Offensive MVP Kraig Ladd.

Ladd’s stat line this season of 1603 Passing Yards, 62.4% Completion Percentage, 25 Passing TDs, and 0 INTs in 6 games, speaks volumes of the caliber of player that he is.  More importantly what this stat line doesn’t show is what Kraig means to his team on the field.  Kraig is a leader that every one of his troops rallies behind.  He is the type of QB that you look at in the huddle and know that you will follow him into the deepest part of hell, knowing that you would come out of battle victorious.

When building a team this is the first piece you look for, a natural leader with enough talent and swagger that he could pick up an entire team and put them on his shoulders as he carries them over the goalline and to a win.  If there was ever a team that was blessed with enough talent to not need such a prolific passer as Ladd it would be the Lake Shore Lynx.  Mike Johnson has set an unbelievable standard for the GFL in regards to recruiting and Kraig Ladd just might be his Mona Lisa.  With this Being Ladd’s final season in the GFL, at least for the foreseeable future, the Lynx will have their work cut out for them trying to replace such an important cog in Machine that is the Lake Shore Lynx.

On behalf of the GFL I would like to thank Kraig Ladd for being part of, if not the most important part of, changing the GFL offensive landscape to what it is today.  Ladd started 2011 by changing arguably the GFL’s top rushing franchise to the GFL’s most feared aerial attack.  We would all like to congratulate Kraig Ladd for being the 2011 GFL Offensive MVP, and we wish him the best of luck in everything that he does in the future.
